This is about a friend of mine who moved away from Chicago and one of the reasons he told me was because all the things he liked about living here had all changed and he'd stayed relatively the same. His friends were married and not going out on the weekends all the time, his favorite bars were turning into Yoga studios and Starbucks and his neighborhood had become overrun by yuppies who didn't appreciate the camaraderie Chicago neighborhoods are famous for. I think this is probably a common thing for a lot of people my age (late 30's early 40's). If you don't change but the world changes around you, then it's like you change by not changing at all.
